No. 2 – ArtJournal / SmashBook

This is my ArtJournal / SmashBook entry No. 2. I did an emboss resist technique using a background stamp from Hero Arts and watercolor from a Japanese watercolor set. Its not the Kuretake Gansai Watercolor Tambi….its something different, I just dont know the exact name.

Its a 24 color set and its so buttery smooth and highly pigmented. I love it! Just as I love the Kuretake Gansai Watercolor Tambi set.

I used only two colors – I’m only giving numbers because I don’t know the name 😦 – AP-06 (blue) & AP-03 (violet).

I did it on Tim Holtz watercolor paper, heat set it with my Milwaukee precision heat tool and used my tape runner to adhere it into thr ArtJournal / SmashBook.

Until next time…Happy Crafting ♡

No. 1 – ArtJournal / SmashBook

I decided that when I’m not doing cards or scrapbooking, I will do a page in my ArtJournal/SmashBook (honestly, I don’t know the difference). But, any who, it has allowed me to express another form of art and I love it!

It doesn’t have to be perfect but I still want it to kinda look coordinated. So here is Entry No. 1.

I love the way it looks when its dry. So perrrrrty!!!

Card Making Sketch Challenge #5 & 6

I have been behind these past two weeks with posting up my cards because I have been reorganizing my craft space. And now I am finally done organizing and here are my cards last week.

Card #5

I used patterned paper from a Bo Bunny
6 x 6 paper pad, Princess gold embossing powder from Ranger that I got from a local craft store in Hawaii (Stamps and Memories Hawaii), and Champagne cardstock and Vellum by Neenah from Office Depot.

For both cards I used an inspiration sketch from Card Sketches for paper crafters. I absolutely love this book because it allows me to have somewhere to start when creating a card. It doesn’t leave me sitting there for hours figuring out what to make.

Card #6

Card 6 is left me distraught for a little while because I couldn’t figure out where to put a sentiment or if I should even put a sentiment at all. I asked some crafters on a Facebook group I’m a part of and they gave me wonderful suggestions.

I used pattern papers from Authentique some vellum and black cardstock, my fave Princess Gold embossing powder, and a gray ribbon from Ellen Hutson.

Using inspirations really help in my creativity because I know I could sit at my desk figuring out what to make and not make anything. And that makes me frustrated.

Thank you for joining me and as always, Happy Crafting!

Ink Blending Tool/Mini Boon Stash DIY Organizer

I love DIYs and when I came across these things at Home Depot it made me think about what I could do with these and I immediately thought stickles organizer. My crafty best friend made her own marker shelf using a 1/2″ PVC pipe (actually 2 10ft long PVC pipes) that she got cut down to about 4″.

As I was with her I saw these 3/4″ couplings and thought about doing some other organizing with them and then I realized I could organize my Ink Blending tools in them. Craft storage shipping costs to Hawaii are pretty high so I had to think of an alternate storage solution.

I wanted to paint them a nice blush pink so I picked up some pink spray paint, also from Home Depot. Home Depot is becoming one of my favorite stores 🙂

I glued some together and it became my diy mini Boon Stash 🙂 and the set of 4 pink with the ribbon I’m using as a blending tool holder while I’m ink blending.

The Boon Stash makes things so organized and easy to reach on my desk. I have a second one in my storage for when my craft space expands.

The “mini” makes it easy for me to get to my glossy accents and multi medium matte, as well as my other tools that are small for the mama Boon Stash.

Crafty Organization No. 2

So I have been thinking about how I can utilize my small space even more and I thought about adding more shelving. But where will I put them?! I figured I could fold up the legs to my desk and add shelves on both ends. Perfect! So it took me a good amount of time to do my shelves since I’m not exactly an engineer or carpenter but I got them done.

I have decided on adding two of the 2 door cabinets on each end of my desk to utilize my small space. (I wish I had a room to myself :/ ).

Also, I have 4 – 24″ stackable shelving units that I keep my storage boxes on. I’m able to fit 3 boxes on each shelf, which means I could fit a total of 24 boxes on this shelf unit but I store my Silhouette Cameo 2, laminator and Heidi Swapp Minc Machine on 3 of them. I’m going to be adding another shelving unit on the left side of this also (fitting at the most 48 storage boxes, but I won’t be storing this much boxes on it). I am planning on addimg another set of 4 shelves to add right next to the one I currently have.

Crafty Organization No. 1

I have been working on organizing my craft space and its constantly changing. But I think I have found a solution that works well for me. I do not have an entire room. But its about 8ft x 4ft and it works well for me. We do have a second bedroom in our condo but its like my second closet and storage. Plus, my bedroom has the AC and nice lighting in the afternoons when Im home crafting.

So I got these black shelves from Home Depot and my white shelf, cabinet and plastic drawers from I love the convenience of having things on shelves and in drawers than in boxes that’s stacked in my closet. I also got my lamps from Target but my bulbs from Home Depot (which I got for $0.47).

This cart shelf thing I don’t remember where I got it but it was in our kitchen first then migrated from room to room and now it sits behind me storing my pens, markers, mini ink cubes, some reinkers and some of my embellishments.

I have these deep ArtBin boxes in several different colors and I store my extra ink pads, containers of embossing powders and my 6 x 6 paper pads. I have a lot of paper pads and I still wish to have more!!!

These marker shelves are awesome! But I feel like putting them into a different storage unit until my craft space grows. And I mean these ArtBin containers. They have inserts to store markers and I think that its pretty neat.

Washi Tape!!! I am obsessed with Washi tape. I have a ribbon rack unit that I have some washis on but I also have this Keurig cup storage unti that i store my washis in. I think Im going to need a second one of these babies.

I got a white 2 door cabinet from as well as the top shelf (I am actually planning on getting a second one). This keeps all of my things completely organized. I strictly keep all of my inks in this cabinet (and some sponges for inking and my laptop in this small space). I have these decorative photo boxes that I keep a bunch of crafty things in. I love them completely!!!

They have these awesome organizers and storages from amazing companies like Organize More and StampnStorage but shipping to Hawaii is really high. I would invest in one but probably when I have a bigger room and space to work in.

That’s is all for now. And until next time…Happy Crafting 🙂

Card Making Sketch Challenge #4

So this is card #4 in my card making challenge. It really didn’t take me that long to figure out how I wanted to make this card. When I saw the sketch…

…I instantly knew what I wanted at the top but it took a while to figure out what sentiment I wanted to use and I had to go searching through all of my stamp sets to figure it out.

I did make two versions of this card and here it is below.

The colors from this weeks Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenege.

Its not color match perfect because I really didnt have a lot of color card stocks to match but this is my version.

Book used: Card Sketches for Paper Crafters

I really had a ton of fun when I made this card just like I am with all of these other cards, but this one was a little different for me. Will all the dimensions and layering.

Card Making Sketch Challenge #3

So I am finally posting up my mother’s day card since I have already sent out my cards. Well I took the sketch below and kinda deviated from it but still took the same concept.

I didnt like the scalloped edge but I still created pretty cool border using the Woodlands a border die from Poppy stamps. Instead of it being horizontal, I made it

Card Making Sketch Challenge #2

Yay! Card Sketch #2!

I made two versions of this card, but I gave this purple one away to my other halfs Uncle and Aunty for their 40th Anniversary. I just added a 40 in the center of the circle that I heat embossed with gold embossing powder and cut from my Silhouette Cameo 2. I love my Cameo!!!

This is blue card is my original card.

I used stamps from the Winged Beauties stamp set from My Favorite Things, papers from Stampin Up and Die Cuts with a View, embossing powders by Ranger.

I love this square card. I do love how different this card is compared to other cards that I’ve made.

This card sketch book is amazing because it gives me a start to make a card. My challenge is to make at least 2 cards per week.

Card Making Sketch Challenge #1

So, I’ve put myself in a Card Challenge to make use of my supplies and also to put my students to the test.

This first card utilizes my washi tapes.

I have a video up on YouTube showing how I make this card.

Using sketches to create cards gives me a place to start making a card. I love washi tape and I could never (because I dont want to) use them! But I finally used them and it looks awesome! My washi tape and twine collection is continuing to grow because I either purchase them or always get them as a gift and I just love how pretty they look.

Washi tapes are great for planner decorating, embellishing cards or just to keep around.
